England

Allterrainmbc - Cheshire/Lancashire - AllterrainMBC welcomes all riders, young and old, men and women. We ride two evenings a week. In the new year we hope to get involved in Enduros, Trail Quests, and hopefully MTB races. We also go riding at Trail Centres. See the website for more details.

Beamish OddSox MBC - North East - The Beamish Odd Sox is the largest and oldest MTB club in the north east of England. We do all types and levels of riding on our local trails, trips further afield, weekends away and holidays at home and abroad. Membership is male & female, aged 16 to 65+.

Bedgebury Forest Cycle Club - Kent - BFCC focuses on introducing people to mountain biking as well as providing activities for more experienced riders. Working closely with the Forestry Commission, we are looking to both improve existing and develop new tracks to offer a complete cycling experience from skills development to free-ride and competition in Bedgebury Forest.

Berks On Bikes MBC - Berkshire Club - We are a mountain bike club based in Berkshire. Our 'clubhouse' and riding areas are based far and wide, from Crowthorne to Cornwall, the North Downs to the South Downs, Wales to the Isle of Wight. The club can offer four local guided rides a week, regular away rides, including day and weekend trips, a permit to ride in Swinley Forest, club clothing, spares service, a newsletter (nearly) five times a year, local shop discounts and a whole load more.

Bigfoot Bike Club - Kent Club - Bigfoot Bike Club is a fast-growing club based in Hayes near Bromley, Kent. We have over 120 members from south-east London, riding or racing or fun and fitness. We organise regular off-road rides, with Thursday nightrides, weekend trips and ocasional excursions further afield. We also have an active road section.

Blackburn and District MBC - Blackburn club - The Club is based in East Lancashire, and organises rides every Wednesday evening and Sunday throughout the year, with regular weekends away to places as varied as the Lakes, Dales, Wales, Scotland and occasionally further afield to France and Southern Spain. The rides are non-competitive and governed by the slowest rider present.

BogTrotters - Lancaster Club - We are a Mountain Bike Club located in Lancaster in the UK. We organise Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday evening & weekend rides for all MTBers. Our members come from Lancashire, Cumbria, Cheshire and Yorkshire and we ride these areas and also the Peaks. Take a look around the site, and if you like what you see, come and join us for a ride!

Bolsover and District Cycling Club - North Derbyshire - We are a multidisciplinary club based in north Derbyshire with a well-established mountain bike section. The club runs regular evening and weekend MTB rides both locally and across the UK. Although rides are currently mainly social rides, the club has plans to develop opportunities for MTB XC racing and is looking at the possibility of developing a local venue for XC and downhill mountain biking.

Bristol Freeride - A group of MTB enthusiasts who have got together to ride! We have many different levels of skills, but all share a common interest in "riding", whether it be flat out downhill in full-on rig, pop'in air at the local skate park, or just riding - we love it all. We have group rides every week, evening club meetings and local trail building days, with the goal of developing Hanham Woods, and Bristolfreeride into a club of excellence.

Bristol MBC - We are an active and friendly Bristol-based club for MTB riders of all interests and abilities. In addition to the rides arranged by our members through our website, the club runs regular local rides, as well as frequent trips further afield. Bristol Trails Group - The Bristol Trails Group was set up to repair trails within riding distance of Bristol City Centre by encouraging volunteers to repair trails, supplying them with tools and materials, and liasing with local land managers.

Chase Trails - Cannock Chase Trailbuilders - Chase Trails are working at Cannock chase in Staffordshire to develop cross country and downhill trails. Formed late 2002, the group is made up of volunteers working in partnership with the local Forestry Commission and Swinnerton Cycles.The group can be contacted via their website.

Chiltern 1XV MBC - South Bucks Club - Founded in 2002 the Chiltern 1XV MBC has approaching 50 members and operates in the Chiltern Hills in South Bucks with organised rides on both midweek evenings and on either Saturday or Sunday morning. In 2005 the club acquired access to a Forestry Commission pine wood for trail development.

Cornwall Freeriders - Cornwall - We are a group of riders from Cornwall with toes dipped into all aspects of off road cycling from downhill to cross country jaunts and a smattering of social scene. We're also involved in the building of permanent trails for southwest riders. If this sounds like your cup of tea give us a call.

Delamere Riders Club - Delamere Riders Club are working hard to improve the cycle areas and trails in Delamere Forest. With big plans for the 4x and bike park area and a sustainable XC route, it is a time of exciting things for the forest. Please join us and help to improve Delamere.

Groovy Tribe MBC - North-West based Club - We are the premier Mountain Bike Club in the North West of England with 100+ members. We ride all over the North West, Wales, the Lakes and anywhere else we can think of. We have weekends away in summer.

Haldon Freeride - Exeter Trailbuilders - Haldon Freeride is a group dedicated to the construction of Safe, Environmentally friendly and Sustainable trails based in the South West of England, based at Haldon Hill just outside Exeter, Devon. We work closely with the Forestry Commission to research and develop new and sustainable methods of trail construction of the more familiar trails as well as Northshore construction techniques.

Hamsterly Trailblazers - County Durham Trailbuilders - Hamsterley Trailblazers are a group of MTB enthusiasts based in County Durham committed to making Hamsterley Forest the premier mountain bike riding experience in the UK. The Trailblazers are all volunteers and as such welcome any contribution from other enthusiasts who share our vision. We have regular trailbuilding activities going on and frequent events and rideouts. Developing Hamsterley into an MTB centre of excellence is our goal and we are therefore heavily involved in fundraising activity.

Kielder Trail Reavers - A voluntary group building singletrack trails in Kielder Forest and committed to making Kielder a leading centre for mountain bikers. We are a registered Charity and have obtained significant funding to continue to build trails in beautiful Kielder Forest. Volunteers meet on Saturdays, throughout the year.

MCC Offroad - North Downs & Kent club - MCC Offroad has friendly MTB rides virtually every Sunday for you in Maidstone and Medway area of North Downs, but also all over Kent. Guided routes mainly on bridleways and single-track on over 25 routes throughout Kent plus Leith Hills and South Downs. If you've got a mountain bike and are of a reasonable fitness come out and give us a try for a few rides. Find excellent tracks and routes - without waiting at junctions and not looking at maps all the time, you'll soon find loads of new routes as well as keeping fit.

Meon Valley MBC - Hampshire - Meon Valley Mountain Bike Club (website under construction) has been set up for off road cyclists within the Meon Valley catchment area between Portsmouth and Southampton in Hampshire. We welcome all abilities, ages and gender. Our local trail is Whiteley where there are 10 miles of trails - we would wish to double if not treble this distance in the next two years. New members are always welcome, and you don't need a £2000 super bike!!. We also aim to put something into the community by encouraging more cycle use.

Newforce - New Forest MBC - We organise regular off road rides in Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset. Rides cater for all abilities, from family rides for children and parents through to energetic and technical off road rides for the fitter and more capable riders of all ages. No one gets left behind.

Oke Freeriders - Okehampton & Area Club - We are a multi discipline mountain bike club, based in Okehampton, on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon. Since January 2005 we've been working in conjunction with the Forestry Commission, developing trails and a northshore site at Abbeyford Woods. We're planning to expand the club as much as possible in the next 18 months, and are looking into putting together XC and downhill race teams for 2006. We're also in the process of creating a youth division to encourage youger people to participate and enjoy the sport.

Rasen Area Trailblazers - Lincolnshire Trailbuilders - The Hamilton Hill Freeride Park is brought to you by the Rasen Area Trailblazerz MTB Club, a group of local riders dedicated to bringing you the best in MTB trails. Our aim is to bring North Shore, Downhill, 4X, and Dual Slalom courses to Lincolnshire.

Redlands Trails - Surrey Trailbuilders - We are a group of mountain bikers local to the Surrey hills who are working in partnership with landowners to build and maintain an exciting network of sustainable mountain bike trails. We plan to build new trails as an alternative to overcrowded bridleways and rebuild and maintain existing trails that are currently unusable.

Reservoir Goats - and Reservoir Chicks MBC's - Buckinghamshire: For both male and female riders, we are a mix of XC,downhill,free ride,all mountain kinda guys. Bringing all abilities into the club taking them to another level they never thought they could reach. With a qualified M.I.A.S. instructor on board, we are positioned to offer you the best mountain bike experience. ALL YOU NEED TO ENJOY THE RIDE!

Ride The Peak - A group open to all with like-minded interests in maintaining and enhancing mountain biking in the Peak District by: Developing the trail network; Highlighting and if necessary developing new facilities; Acting as a forum for discussion between MTB riders, promoters, land owners, other user groups and local decision/policy makers in the Peak District; Linking with national MTB projects and work.

Singletraction - Yorkshire's MTB Trailbuilders - Thriving club based in the North East who build trails primarily in Dalby Forest.

Thrunton Trail Building Group - A volunteer group of Mountain Bikers formed to create and maintain natural-looking mountain biking trails which blend into and complement the environment in Thrunton Woods, Northumberland. Contact: charlie_spurr (at) @btinternet.com

TIMBER - Thetford Forest Trailbuilders - TIMBER is dedicated to improving mountain biking in Thetford Forest. We build and maintain trails with cooperation and support of the Forestry Commission. We believe that improving the trails and routes in Thetford Forest will not only improve riding for cyclists but will foster community involvement and promote mountain biking.

TROG - Tunstall and Rendlesham Off-Road Group - TROG is a group of local riders getting together and working with the Forestry Commission to build and maintain mountain bike trails in Tunstall and Rendlesham Forests.

TT Freeriders - North Devon - Mountain Bikers from the Taw and Torridge areas of North Devon. The club's aims are to develop a network of mountain bikers motivated to get out and ride trails; to make access agreements with land owners, enabling the development of local trails; and to host monthly club meetings.

VC Godalming & Haslemere - Surrey Hills cycling club - We cater for all types of cycling and levels of cyclist from the hardcore racer to the casual Sunday rider. We have rides starting from Godalming and Haslemere train stations every Sunday and members usually organise up to 4 additional rides per week ranging from MTB night rides to road hill reps. Our aims are the promotion of physical health and fitness through cycling.

Velocity Bikes Cycling Club - Hampshire - Velocity Bikes Cycling Club is a social riding and trail building club. We are working in partnership with the Queen Elizabeth Country Park located on the South Downs Way in Hampshire. Our goal is to develop safe and sustainable, exciting and fun to ride trails within this popular riding area.

Wellingborough Mountaineering Club - Mountain bikers are a small percentage of the WMC. We have a cottage in Snowdonia. We have mountain bike rides every Sunday, for pleasure not racing, at either, Woburn, Chicksands, Irchester Park, Thetford Forest, Cannock Chase. Wednesday evenings we meet in Earls Barton, The White Horse at 9pm.

Wycombe Summit MBC - We are a mountain bike club organising rides in the hills and trails around High Wycombe and the Chilterns. Each month we hold a ride for prospective new members as detailed on the website. Members also organise weekday night rides and other weekend rides. The club offers coaching to its members to help them improve biking skills. The club leases a wood from the Forestry Commission and organises summer evening XC races between May and September.

Ireland

Epic MTB - South Dublin / North Wicklow - We are primarily a leisure club but do have members competing in both cross-country and downhill, and do cater for both disciplines. We run a variety of spins every week, new members are always welcome. Contact: sean.herlihy@ie.pwc.com

MAD MTB - South Dublin / Wicklow - MAD are Ireland's oldest mountainbiking club, formed in the late 1980s. The club caters for all levels of rider, with regular spins geared towards beginners, up to marathon battles through the wilderness for our tougher riders. We ride primarily in the south Dublin and Wicklow areas, with occasional trips further afield.

MtbRider.com - NI's online MTB community - First off it's not about racing, if that's your thing there are plenty of other sites out there. It's not a mountain bike club either, its an online community for people who just ride. Uphill, downhill, whatever.

Rubbish Bikers - Dublin and beyond - Rubbish bikers are a group of inexperienced, old, unfit and generally incompetent mountain bikers operating out of Dublin but venturing forth into all parts of Ireland. Operating every Saturday if we can be bothered - we offer visitors a free lift to stunning locations where we provide the entertainment and laughs - at our expense. Sodds Mud Club - Mid-Ulster based off-road club - incorporating Sperrin's Mountains to surrounding trails. Open to all ages and styles of cycling off road. Mainly cross country with skills sections. Strong trail building and trail repairing ethos. Scheduled coaching. Group trips to area of Ireland and Scotland. All welcome.

University of Limerick MBC - Limerick University - The University of Limerick Mountain Bike Club was founded in 1999 and is open to both students of UL and external members. The club's main focus is on leisure rather than competition mountain biking. Club activities are mainly cross country/enduro cycling as well as downhill and trials/street riding.

Scotland

Angus MTB Trails Association - The Angus Mountain Bike Trails Association has been formed for the purpose of building a Mountain Bike Trails Centre somewhere in the Angus area and possibly using Laggan Wolftrax as the starting model. Many sites have been suggested but so far we do not have a definitive short-list. If you know somewhere you think is suitable please get in touch.

Bike: Blairadam - Blairadam Forest, Kelty, Fife - Bike: Blairadam is a Fife based trail project working with the Forestry Commission, local authorities and other user groups towards the improvement of existing trails and development of new trails in Blairadam Forest, near Kelty, just off J4, M90. Trailbuilding volunteers are always welcome. Check our site for sessions and also group rides.

Carron Valley Development Group - Scottish Trailbuilders - Carron Valley Development Group was created to develop, build and maintain Mountain Bike (XC, DH, 4X and Trials) trails and multi-user trails within the area, located in between Stirling, Kilsyth, Fintry and Denny, Carron Valley is readily accessible to everyone in the Central Belt via car, bus or train (as well as foot, bike tyre or hoof!)

Dunfermline Cycling Club - Fife - The club can trace its roots back to 1935. It is one of Scotland's longest established, independent cycling clubs and is run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, catering for all cycling disciplines.

Monumental MBC - North Highlands (Sutherland) - Monumental Mountain Bike Club, based in the north of the Highlands (Sutherland), is an ever - expanding group of enthusiastic riders of all ages who not only enjoy meeting regularly to explore different trails, but like the excuse to get together for a social gathering.

Moray MBC - Moray MBC is a large club with rides twice weekly, Tuesday (fast XC run) and Thursday (fun/play) evenings. Weekend rides organised regularly through the online club forum. We ride everything from DH to 24hr racing. We have a large involvement in the trail development in the Moray area.

Pariah Trail Designs - Glasgow - Pariah Trail Designs was formed in Glasgow by a group of freeride enthusiasts. We are committed to making Lennox Forest the top MTB attraction in Glasgow. Pariah Trail Designs are volunteers and welcome any contribution from other enthusiasts who share our interests. We hold regular trailbuilding and riding sessions. Developing Lennoxtown forrest into an MTB centre of excellence is our goal and we hope to push the limits of freeride design.

Wales

Brechfa Bike Club - Organisers of the Annual Brechfa Enduro, a charity mountain bike event based on the Brechfa Mountain Bike Trails designed by Rowan Sorrell (Back on Track) and built by Brian Rumble (Forestry Commission).

Llanwrtyd Wells Cycling Club - LWCC organises weekly rides for local mountain bikers and is currently working with local land managers to construct some permanently waymarked MTB routes in the forests of the Cambrian mountains, as well as helping to promote cycle tourism in the mid Wales area. MLC Freeriders - Riders and trailbuilders near Caerphilly - We are a group of riders who enjoy trailbuildingin the Bedwas / Caerphilly area. Our riding is based all around the fun aspect of mountain biking, therefore any riding ability is welcome, and you don't have to be super fit. Our aim is to start talks with the Forestry Commission to enable us to build challenging North Shore trails for everyone to ride.

MTB Pigs - Swansea - The emphasis of the club is very much on having fun. We are a mixed discipline and ability club from 'DH racers' to loop to the pub 'XCers' - but all share a passion for riding. We ride, build and maintain trails in and around Swansea. New riders are always welcome.

Singletrack Mind MBC - As with all mountain bikers our first mission is to ride as many fun trails as possible. Secondly we stay faithful to our routes and trail build once a month. Not only is trail building fun but you also get to appreciate riding more afterwards. The club receives a high profile with The Forestry Commission because of the work we do and gives us a voice over the type of trails being built. Recently we also have been trying to improve our community links and have embarked on a an ambitious project to loan bikes out to community groups.

Welsh Downhill MTB Association - The WDMBA is a not for profit association, set up by riders from Wales. Our primary aim is to promote the sport of downhill mountain biking in Wales and develop a number of sustainable downhill tracks. For further details see the website.

Offshore

Guernsey Velo Club - We are a Guernsey based cycling club that caters for all aspects of the sport. We organise regular weekly xc training rides and provide a full calendar of MTB races, including DH, XC and Dual. Living on an island we have a limited amount of space available, which has its problems but we do our best to further our sport.

Manx Mountain Bike Club - Isle of Man - We are attempting to create some purpose built trails with the support of the Manx Government. The club has over 100 members covering trails, XC and DH racing. We also run the End2End challenge event in September each year. This year's race was the 10th, attracted 400 entries and was featured on SKY Sports.

Riders59ers - Orkney Islands - Being situated 59 degrees north (hence the club name) the Riders59ers is an Orkney based mountain bike club. We are working closely with the local authority to develop mountain biking in Orkney. We hope to promote Orkney as a mountain bike destination. Skye and Lochalsh Area Mountain Bike Group - The Group was formed in October 2004 to identify, develop, manage and promote a network of world class mountain bike trails in Skye and Lochalsh.
